Ingredients

Makes: 4 sandwiches
Start to Finish: 25 minutes
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons butter

  • 2 cans (6 ounces each) water-pack chunk white tuna, StarKist®

  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise, Hellmann’s® or Best Foods®

  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt-free lemon pepper, McCormick®

  • 8 slices white sandwich bread, Sara Lee®

  • 4 slices cheddar cheese, Kraft®

  • Canola oil cooking spray, Mazola® Pure

Directions

  1. Place butter in a small bowl; let stand until softened. In medium bowl, using a fork, combine tuna, mayonnaise, and lemon pepper; set aside.

  2. Place 4 bread slices on a cutting board. Put 1 cheese slice on each bread slice. Place 1⁄4 cup tuna mixture in center of cheese. Place a second bread slice on each sandwich and gently press together.

  3. Using 3-inch cookie cutters, cut sandwiches into fun shapes, such as stars and moons. Using a table knife, spread both sides of sandwiches with softened butter, using about 1 teaspoon butter per side. Spray a large skillet with cooking spray. Place on burner; turn burner to medium-high. Place 2 sandwiches in skillet. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until bread is brown. Using a heat-resistant spatula, carefully turn sandwiches. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes more or until bread is brown and cheese melts. Remove skillet from heat. Using the spatula, transfer each sandwich to a dinner plate. Repeat with remaining sandwiches. Serve warm.
